About us
At Bluebird Hills Farm all of our bath and body products are natural. Products contain no artificial fillers, detergents, sulfates or parabens. Soaps are made from goat's milk, and not just any goat's milk, it is real raw goat's milk from our own goats! What more could you ask for? What we don't produce on our own farm we source from Canadian suppliers. For example our bees wax comes from Alberta. The oils that we use are plant based and NOT deprived from petroleum products. When we cannot use essential oils in our products we use a nitro-musk, paraben free fragrance oil.
Why use goat's milk?
Goat's milk contains many vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamins A, E and C, and selenium, which are all important in maintaining healthy skin. The unique protein structure in goat's milk means that it is easily absorbed by the skin.
Goat's milk also contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. The alpha-hydroxy acids are so effective because they break down the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together. This leaves new cells on the surface of your skin that are smoother and younger looking.

How it started
The idea of making soap began with my independent research of the materials, techniques and science behind creating a product. Then in 2010 I went ahead experimenting with basic goat's milk soap recipes to get a feel for the process. This was about the same year my family and I moved to a farm west of Edmonton and bought our first herd of goats. Once we had the goats I started milking them, however we only needed so much milk for ourselves. Therefore in 2012 I began to craft soap in order to add another income to the farm, hence the establishment of Blue Bird Hills Farm Soap. At the moment we have about 10 goats. Each goat will be milked from April to July, then the milk is frozen and used as needed for my creations. All of the bars of soap contain 30% of goat's milk. The process, which is called saponifacation, is a chemical reaction where water, lye and oils combine to make the essential foundation of soap. Producing soap is as much of an art form as it is chemistry! I enjoy adding different scents with essential oils or fragrance oils. Colour is fun too. Clay from various corners of the world can be added to soap to give black, yellow, green and blue colour.
